Many can be used in the following ways: many有以下用法
as a determiner (followed by a plural noun): 用作限定词（后接复数名词）: It happened many years ago. 这事发生在许多年前。 How many children have you? 你有几个孩子？

Usage note: many
Many, a lot, and lots can be used for referring to a large number of things or people. In ordinary spoken English many is mainly used in negative sentences and in questions. It is also used in positive sentences after ‘too', ‘so', or ‘as': many， a lot 和lots 可以用来指大量的人或物。在日常英语口语中，many 主要用于否定句和疑问句，也可以在肯定句中接在too, so 或as 后面使用: We didn't sell many tickets.我们没有卖掉太多票。 Were there many children in the audience?观众中有许多儿童吗？ You're trying to do too many things at once.你想同时做太多的事情。
In positive statements a lot of is usually used instead of many: 在肯定句里通常用的是a lot of， 而不是many: A lot of people don't like the new law.许多人不喜欢这部新法律。
In written English and in formal spoken English many is used in sentences of all types. It is more formal than a lot of: 在书面英语和正式的英语口语中，many 可以用在所有类型的句子中，比a lot of 更正式: Many disabled people regularly use public transport.许多残疾人经常使用公共交通工具。
In informal English, lots of is often used instead of a lot of: 在非正式的英语中，常使用lots of， 而不是a lot of: Lots of people get divorced these days.现在许多人离婚。
