Out can be used in the following ways: out 有以下用法
as an adverb: 用作副词: We went out into the garden. 我们出去到了花园里。 He took out a penknife. 他拿出一把袖珍折刀。
after the verb ‘to be': 用于动词to be 后: You were out when I called. 我打电话给你的时候你出去了。 The house was silent and all the lights were out. 屋里静悄悄的,灯全灭了。
in the preposition phrase out of: 用在介词短语out of 中: I got out of bed and went downstairs. 我下了床到楼下去。 In American English and spoken British English out itself is commonly used as a preposition, but many British people consider that this use is not correct: 在美国英语和英国英语口语中,out 本身常用作介词,但许多英国人认为这种用法不正确: I looked out the window. 我往窗外望去。
